DialSwarm vs Bland

Updated October 2026

Bland and DialSwarm both put AI on the phone. They are built for different people. Bland is a voice AI platform with plans labeled for developers, teams and organizations. DialSwarm is a finished AI SDR and AI reception product for salespeople who want the tedious calls handled so they can spend their day on real conversations.

Prices below come from public pages, checked on October 17, 2026.

The short version

If you want to build your own phone agents on a voice AI platform, Bland offers self-serve and enterprise plans. If you are a sales team that wants AI to call consented leads, qualify them with your questions and warm transfer ready people to a rep, DialSwarm gives you that workflow out of the box.

How they price

Bland charges by the minute of talk time. On the Start plan it is $0.14 a minute with no platform fee. The Build plan drops the rate to $0.12 a minute for a $299 monthly platform fee. Enterprise is contracted to your volume. Bland's page says the per-minute rate covers the language model, speech to text and text to speech, with no token charges. Transfer minutes are extra, at $0.05 a minute on Start and $0.04 on Build. Telephony is billed separately, either on your own carrier or Bland's at pass-through cost.

DialSwarm charges per connected call. If the phone rings and nobody answers, it doesn't count. DialSwarm bills connected calls only, so unanswered dials don't count. You get 10 free calls with no card, and current plans are on the pricing page.

Which costs less depends on your calls. Per-minute pricing rewards short calls. Per-connected-call pricing is easier to predict, and you never pay for a ring with no answer.

Setup and day to day work

Bland's pricing page lists features like Conversational Pathways, automations, knowledge bases and integrations on all plans. Bland says most teams deploy a first agent within a day on self-serve plans.

DialSwarm is built around the sales workflow itself. You upload a lead list, choose a call schedule with retries (Fast, Steady, Persistent or custom), set voicemail rules and add your qualifying questions. The agent never claims to be human, says it's an AI when asked, asks your questions and warm transfers ready people to a rep's phone. Follow-up tasks, call history and opt-in recordings are part of the product. HubSpot sync, an API, webhooks and Zapier or Make for speed to lead are there when you need them.

Warm transfers and live coaching

For a sales team, the handoff matters most. A lead who is ready to talk should reach a person fast.

On Bland's pricing compare table, Warm Transfers and Live Transfers are not checked for the Start or Build plans. The Start and Build plans list transfer time rates of $0.05 and $0.04 a minute.

In DialSwarm, warm transfer to a rep's phone is the core of the product. Reps can also listen in live and coach the agent mid call by typing or talking. That keeps a person in charge of the conversation even when the AI is doing the first part.

Reception and missed calls

DialSwarm also includes AI reception. It answers your line after hours or when you miss a call, takes clear messages, flags urgent ones and learns your business from your website. You can forward missed calls from your cell to it.

Compliance basics

The FCC confirmed in February 2024 that AI-generated voices count as "artificial" voices under the TCPA, which means you need prior express consent to make those calls. That applies no matter which tool you pick.

DialSwarm is built around consent. Its agents only call people who agreed to be called, never claim to be human and say they're an AI when asked, and honor stop requests. Bland's pricing compare table does not check Guardrails (Protected Calls) for the Start or Build plans.

Who should pick Bland instead

Bland is the better choice in several real situations:

  • You want to build your own agent logic. Bland lists Conversational Pathways, automations and custom code extraction (Enterprise) for teams that want to design their own call flows.
  • You need enterprise controls. Bland's Enterprise plan lists on-prem or VPC deployment, data residency, BAA, SSO and forward deployed engineers. DialSwarm does not offer those today.
  • You want SMS, web chat or in-call scheduling. Bland's Enterprise plan lists SMS and web chat, an appointment scheduling node and iMessage. DialSwarm is focused on sales calls and reception.
  • You run very high volume. Bland's Build plan lists 50 concurrent calls and up to 2,000 calls a day, with custom concurrency on Enterprise.
  • You need a CRM other than HubSpot natively. DialSwarm only syncs HubSpot today.

Bottom line

Bland is a voice AI platform for teams that want to build phone agents themselves. DialSwarm is for salespeople who want an AI that does the tedious calling, hands over the ready leads and gives them hours of their day back. Try DialSwarm with 10 free calls and no card, then decide.
